FX has canceled the sitcom “English Teacher” after two seasons, ending a show that garnered critical acclaim while facing controversy over sexual assault allegations against its creator and star, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Deadline reports.
The network has not released a formal statement explaining its decision to end the series. The cancellation came less than two months after the entire second season was released on FX and its streaming affiliate, Hulu.
The show, which premiered in September 2024, followed the life of high school teacher Evan Marquez. Alvarez created and starred in the series alongside Stephanie Koenig, Enrico Colantoni, Sean Patton and Carmen Christopher.
