Early Thursday morning, a Baton Rouge woman was found dying of stab wounds in a parking lot off Old Hammond Highway. Police believe the suspect set himself on fire following a car crash after the attack.
At around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Baton Rouge Police responded to a call at the 12000 block of Old Hammond Highway. Stasy Charles, 23, was found lying in a parking lot suffering from life-threatening stab wounds. She was transported to a hospital where she died from her wounds.
At the time, detectives learned that another crash had occurred down the street.
Police believe that Steven Heinrich Jr arrived at Charles's residence and rammed her vehicle with his vehicle, Heinrich then forcibly removed Charles from her car and began to repeatedly stab her, police say.
Henrich then fled the scene
