Felony charges have been filed against a Sacramento woman in connection with a demonstration at a Turning Point USA event at UC Davis in April where violence occurred and at least one person was injured.

Turning Point USA, founded by assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk, is a political nonprofit and student group that promotes conservative advocacy on high school and college campuses.

The Yolo County District Attorney's Office said the charges were filed on Thursday against 22-year-old Joanna Sodke.

UC Davis students expressed safety concerns after altercations and hostile exchanges ensued at the April 3 event.
