The New York Jets confirmed an anticipated move before Thursday night’s game against the New England Patriots.
New York placed Garrett Wilson on the injured reserve approximately four hours before the Week 11 matchup’s 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. The Jets had already ruled out the wide receiver for the AFC East showdown with a right knee injury.
Wilson had missed two games with the same injury before returning in last Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. He didn’t record a catch in 19 snaps before leaving during the third quarter.
Despite missing time, Wilson leads the Jets with 36 receptions and 395 receiving yards this season. The 2022 first-round pick is highly likely to fall short of a 1,000-yard season for the first time in his career.
