A Florida judge on Thursday denied bond for the man accused of driving into a crowd outside a popular LGBTQ bar in Tampa, killing four people and injuring more than a dozen others.
Authorities say 22-year-old Silas Sampson was fleeing from police in the early hours of Nov. 8 when he lost control of his vehicle and plowed into Bradley’s on 7th , a bar that has “long been a gathering spot in Tampa’s Ybor City for the LGBTQ community,” according to St. Pete Pride.
Tampa’s historic Ybor City district, often referred to as “the GaYBOR District,” is a popular LGBTQ destination and considered the center of Tampa’s gay nightlife.
Three victims died at the scene, and a fourth died at a hospital, police said. Thirteen others were injured, with one person remaining in critical condition o
