Augusta Township honoured its top businesses and community members at its annual Business and Community Awards in Maitland on Nov. 7.

The event began with a presentation by guest speaker David Beatty, owner of Brockville-based manufacturer Canarm.

He spoke about the challenges and realities of today’s global economy and the impact of international trade pressures on Canadian businesses.

Beatty shared his outlook on the future of manufacturing and emphasized his commitment to keeping production in Canada wherever possible.
