ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — An Elizabethtown man was arrested Wednesday two weeks after a baby was found injured.

On Oct. 28, the Hardin County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of suspected physical abuse to an infant. Detectives in coordination with Child Protective Services then opened an investigation.

Over the next two weeks, investigators interviewed the parents and medical professionals regarding the "significant injuries" sustained by the infant, according to a Hardin County Sheriff's Office social media post.

As a result of the investigation, Zachary Foster, 19, of Elizabethtown, was arrested and charged with criminal abuse of a child 12 or under (first degree).

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Hardin County Sheriff's Office didn't release any additional details.
