The longest government shutdown in history ended Wednesday without lawmakers extending enhanced premium tax credits for people insured under the Affordable Care Act.

For the past four weeks, lawmakers have been urging public to wait to enroll in hopes Congress would act.

In a statement, Access Health CEO James Michel said, “we remain hopeful that an extension will come – sooner rather than later. And Access Health CT is prepared for this outcome and are ready to pivot quickly to implement any changes once a decision is made on the path forward.”
