CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Border Patrol agents were headed to Charlotte, North Carolina and could arrive as soon as the weekend, the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
Two separate federal offices told Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden that U.S. Border Patrol agents were being sent to Charlotte, the sheriff’s office said on Thursday, Nov. 13. The federal agents could reach the city as soon as Saturday, Nov. 15, or early the following week.
Specific details regarding the federal operation had “not been disclosed,” officials said Thursday. The sheriff’s office also said it had not been asked to help with any enforcement actions.
