Portland’s official holiday tree has made its grand entrance at Pioneer Courthouse Square .

For nearly a quarter of a century, Stimson Lumber Company has donated a towering tree to ‘Portland’s Living Room’ to serves as the city’s centerpiece for the holiday season.

This year’s Douglas fir -- grown on sustainable forestlands in Timber, in rural Washington County -- made its journey to The Square with the help of Highway Heavy Hauling, a woman-owned, Oregon-based trucking company.

Measuring 75 feet and weighing over 9,000 pounds, the tree’s arrival was no small feat. A crew of 21 people from seven different companies worked together to safely transport it downtown.
