(KWCH) - When it comes to law enforcement reaching out to the public for help in searches for people reported missing, you’ll often see Silver Alerts, usually for missing seniors or, seen less often, but even more well-known, Amber Alerts for cases involving missing or abducted children, often ignited by a concern of imminent danger. “Amber” is a national system.

On Wednesday night, a different kind of alert was issued for a Derby man who was reported missing after being discharged from a Wichita hospital. The Derby Police Department issued a Purple Alert for the 57-year-old man who had mental and physical health concerns. That man has since been found.
