COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Springs Fire Department said crews were on scene of a structure fire in southeast Colorado Springs Thursday afternoon.

Just before 4 p.m., firefighters said they were on scene of a fully involved garage fire on Golden Eagle Drive, near Airport Road and Powers Boulevard.

As of 4:05 p.m., crews said a majority of the fire had been knocked down, and firefighters remain on scene searching for hot spots and extension.

According to the fire department, smoke is visible in the area, and several roads are closed.

You are asked to avoid the area as crews are on scene working to knock the fire down.
