NORTH CAROLINA, USA — A North Carolina judge ordered TikTok influencer Brenay Kennard to pay $1.75 million dollars to her husband's ex-wife for "alienation of affection" and "criminal conversation."
The order, issued Monday, comes a year after Akira Montague sued Kennard for allegedly having an affair with Tim Montague, who is Kennard's manager, according to NBC News.
The civil lawsuit was filed with the Durham County Superior Court in May 2024 and accused Kennard of intentionally ruining her marriage and "criminal conversation," the act of having sex with another person's spouse.
Only Hawaii, Illinois, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Dakota and Utah recognize criminal conversation lawsuits, according to the Cornell Law School Legal Information Institute.
