GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - On this installment we are here at the Cedar Key Historical Society Museum, lets check it out.
Since being settled in the mid 1800s, Cedar Key’s had a rich history and before that, indigenous peoples lived here. The Cedar Key Historical Society Museum features exhibits about all of Cedar Key history, all the way back to prehistoric times.
“I just love visiting here, I especially like to look at the fossils,” said Ryland White, aspiring historian.
The museum has two buildings with loads of exhibits on the people and industries that made Cedar Key what it is today. Fishing, Oystering, and Clamming are all features in the museum and show how food gets to the table. They also host events and parties at the museum for a little culture by the sea.
