Curtis Joseph — commonly known as Cujo — ranks seventh all-time for NHL goalies with 454 regular-season wins.

He played in 943 games over 19 seasons, becoming the first goalie to record a 30-win season with six different NHL teams (St. Louis Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers , Detroit Red Wings, Phoenix Coyotes and Calgary Flames ).

Yet, Joseph credits playing for the Notre Dame Hounds in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League — the “best team ever” with fellow future NHLers Rod Brind’Amour, Scott Pellerin and Dwayne Norris — as a springboard to his NHL career.

Joseph, who retired at age 41, was in Saskatoon Thursday as guest speaker for the annual Off The Leash Luncheon, a fundraiser for the University of Saskatc
