LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A juvenile died days after being shot during an attempted car break-in in Lincolnton earlier this week, according to the police department.
Lincolnton officers responded to Huss Street around 2 a.m. Sunday in regards to a person, later identified as a juvenile, being shot.
Police said two juveniles were committing vehicle break-ins in the area and that one of the juveniles was shot by a resident during an encounter in their backyard.
The juvenile was transported by EMS to the hospital but died from his injuries days later.
The two juveniles were identified as suspects in multiple car break-ins in the area over the past week, according to police.
No charges are expected to be filed in this case.
