It’s not as if there were no warning signals.

Long before this Vaughan home invasion went deadly wrong leading to the senseless shooting of an innocent father, there was a weapons prohibition placed by a judge on one of the accused charged with first-degree murder.

That was a good decision from a courthouse. Many release orders from custody were perhaps in hindsight, not such good decisions.

There’s not much good Monday morning quarterbacking can do now. However, it’s hard to not come to the conclusion that if the man before he courts had have been kept in lockup or a weapon’s ban was followed, maybe there would have been no tragedy.

But that’s not how this disturbing story unfolded.
