WHITE PLAINS – A 29-year-old Yonkers man has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the shooting death of another man in August.

Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace said Xavier Palmer was arraigned and remanded to the county jail.

On August 11, Mount Vernon resident James Hardy, 41, was shot and killed on Cliff Street in Yonkers. An investigation by police led to the arrest of Palmer shortly after the incident.

A loaded .99 handgun was recovered by police at the scene of the shooting.
