A 28-year-old fugitive was arrested more than six months after authorities say he shot and killed a man in Jersey City,

Gerard Rosario, of Jersey City, was taken into custody Wednesday in Union City and charged with murder and weapons offenses, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said Thursday.

Devon Reid, 39, was found shot in the neck after he crashed into a tree in the area of Old Bergen Road and Merritt Street around 4 p.m. on May 3.

Reid, of Elizabeth, died of his injuries about three hours later at an area hospital.

Rosario is scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon. An attorney was not listed for him in court records.
