PHOENIX — A man was arrested on Thursday in connection with a homicide that occurred in June in the West Valley, authorities said.

The Surprise Police Department identified 27-year-old Nathan Sobarzo as the man taken into custody.

According to police, Sobarzo was arrested after his release from prison on unrelated charges and faces a charge of second-degree murder.

On June 11, 53-year-old Sean Hernandez was found dead in the front yard of a home near Bell and Dysart roads.

Police said that Sobarzo was arrested on unrelated robbery charges at the time of the incident, but added that during the investigation it was learned the Sobarzo lived at the home and was Hernandez’s cousin.
