LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A man from Hempstead County, Arkansas will be serving 75 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to the death of his wife.
Officials with the Arkansas Eighth North Judicial District stated that 48-year-old Bruce Lee Cockrell pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and arson in connection to the death of Tonya Marie Liggin-Cockrell.
Court documents stated that authorities with the Hempstead County Sheriff's Office were sent to a home in Fulton after receiving reports of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, they met with a member of the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department, who informed them of a woman victim, later identified as Tonya Cockrell, who received second and third-degree burns on most of her body.
