The driver of a bus that crashed in the NSW Hunter Valley and killed 10 wedding guests will serve his full 32-year sentence after his bid to have it cut failed.
Brett Button, 61, was dosed up on an opiate painkiller, joking about rollercoasters and driving the coach too fast when tragedy struck on the night of June 11, 2023.
Ten passengers were killed and 25 others were injured when the man who was trusted to get them back to Singleton safely drove dangerously and caused the bus to roll on Wine Country Drive.
During a rare sitting of the Court of Criminal Appeal in Newcastle in October, Button's lawyers argued his 32-year jail term, with a 24-year non-parole period, was "too much", and that the sentencing judge had made errors in his findings.
