LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
From the sound of hooves pounding across the dirt to the cheers echoing through Freedom Hall, the North American Championship Rodeo is again bringing together the best cowboys and cowgirls from across the region.
"There’s no better place to be at night than here," rodeo veteran Cody Huber said. "I’ve been coming out here for so long that if I don’t go here in November, I’m not sure what I’d be doing."
Rodeo is in Huber's blood. He started competing nearly three decades ago, and for him, it's more than competition; it's family.
He competes in calf roping, the same event his father dominated for decades.
"My dad has the most circuit titles ... 29 total circuit championships, plus a couple other rodeo championships as well," Cody said. "So yeah, big shoes to fill."
