STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police responded to a shots-fired scene near the Staten Island Courthouse in St. George on Thursday afternoon, according to a spokesperson for the NYPD.

Police responded to gunfire on Saint Marks Place just after 3 p.m., the spokesperson said.

Nobody was struck by bullets at the scene, the NYPD said.

A stretch of Saint Marks Place was taped off in the wake of the incident. NYPD vehicles and officers were seen at the location, which was right behind the courthouse, just after 4 p.m.
