COLUMBIA, S.C. — After 43 days of gridlock, the federal government is back open after the House on Wednesday night approved a Senate-passed funding package. The deal extends funding for most federal agencies until J anuary 30 and includes three bills funding other parts of the government through September 2026.
To break down what’s included in the agreement, News19 spoke with Dr. Chase Meyer, a political science professor at the University of South Carolina.
“So that means for your air traffic controllers, for the state department, for the justice department for basically most of the federal government they are now fully funded until the end of January which at that time we’ll have this fight all over again – but for example SNAP benefits those are extended now all the way to next year
