MORENCI, Mich. —

Almost 15 years after three brothers disappeared, their dad has been charged with murder.

According to Lenawee County court records, John Skelton was charged with three counts of open murder and three counts of felony tampering with evidence on Wednesday.

The disappearance of Andrew, Alexander and Tanner was a shock to the small, tight-knit city of Morenci, Michigan.

Community members said the boys had already been on their mind, as they knew 15 years since their disappearance on Thanksgiving in 2010 was coming up.

People said the new charges were something they had been waiting to see.

"I feel at this point in time, he should be charged with the murder of the kids," said Roland Parrill, who has lived in Morenci for more than 25 years.
