MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - In a month, volunteers will place wreaths on the graves of veterans from coast to coast through the non-profit Wreaths Across America.

Minot coordinator Robyn Stoner said they are partnering with the Civil Air Patrol to make this year’s event happen.

Stoner said wreaths cost $17 to sponsor, and the group is hoping to fundraise for 1,000 of them.

She said cadets, Cub Scout troops and other youth will volunteer with the ceremony that day and the laying of wreaths.

“Rememberance is a very big part of part of their program and passing that education onto our youth, so that they grow up understanding where our freedoms came from,” said Stoner.
