Idon’t know what Prime Minister Mark Carney is telling Premier Danielle Smith about pipelines, but it must be damned convincing.
On Thursday at Terrace, B.C., near Prince Rupert, Carney announced another five “nation-building” projects his government will fast-track. And just like with the first five, there is no pipeline and no major project in Alberta.
In the past, an Alberta premier might have suggested the Eastern bastard go freeze in the dark. If Carney won’t help us get out oil to foreign markets beyond the U.S., perhaps we should cut off our supply to central Canada.
But that was not Smith’s response to Alberta’s second snubbing by the Liberal government in as many months.
Rather, Smith said she approved of the projects Carney announced on Thursday — an LNG terminal near Prince
