SALT LAKE CITY — A 10-year-old Utah boy is turning heads — and winning hearts — as he races toward his goal of becoming the top “sales kid” in the state.

Jacob Knowles, a member of Scouting for America , set out with a lofty ambition: to sell $15,000 worth of popcorn. He’s already surpassed that milestone, but for Jacob, the real prize is claiming the number one spot.

“I get lots of glory and I feel really good about myself for years to come,” he said with a grin.

Winning Customers One Smile at a Time

Knowles’ sales style is anything but ordinary. He sings, dances and greets customers with infectious energy.

At one point, after a passerby declined to donate, Knowles shrugged it off with humor: “No thanks? At least I got a compliment.”
