COOLIDGE, AZ (AZFamily) — Two men from Pinal County have been indicted following a months-long investigation into a cockfighting and illegal enterprise operation, the Pinal County Attorney’s Office said Thursday.
Samuel Felix, 60, and Gerald Vaughn, 61, were indicted on 80 counts of cockfighting and one count of controlling an illegal enterprise, all felonies.
The investigation began during the summer, after detectives identified suspected cockfighting activity at two homes on Main Street, south of Coolidge Avenue and west of Picacho Street .
Officers searched the two homes on Oct. 29 and they said they recovered more than 110 fighting roosters, along with paraphernalia, training equipment, ledgers, steroids, and cash linked to a cockfighting ring.
