LOUISVILLE, Ky. — UofL Health is cutting its workforce by less than 1% as part of an effort to “modernize the delivery of health care” across its system, David McArthur, director of public relations for marketing and communications, said Wednesday.

In a statement, McArthur said some affected employees were offered opportunities to transfer into open positions elsewhere within the system. “This move will help leverage the strengths and opportunities as a system, by removing duplication to ensure continued investment in patient care, our people and our communities,” he said.

UofL Health did not specify how many positions are being eliminated or when the changes will take effect.
