FESTUS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -Opposition is forming against a proposed data center in Jefferson County after the Festus City Council voted unanimously Monday to annex 240 acres of wooded property near the interchange of Interstate 55 and Highway 67.

Dennis McDonald, who lives next door to the property where the data center could be built, started a Facebook page and website called " No Data Center in Festus " where neighbors can share their concerns.

“Whether that’s their intent or not, it sure feels like they’re trying to slip it past us really quick,” McDonald said.
