EUGENE, Ore. - Eugene is preparing for a leadership transition as City Manager Sarah Medary will retire in December.
According to the City of Eugene, Mayor Kaarin Knudson will appoint Matt Rodrigues as City Manager Pro Tem. Rodrigues, currently the Assistant City Manager, will step into the interim role to ensure stability while the search for a permanent city manager continues into 2026. Mayor Knudson expressed confidence in Rodrigues, highlighting his past experience as Director of Public Works.
"We are fortunate to have a strong executive team in place at the City, and I am grateful that Matt Rodrigues will serve as City Manager Pro Tem," Knudson said. "Matt is a thoughtful leader with deep insight to our City’s responsibilities and operations."
