COOLIDGE, Ariz. — Two Arizona men were indicted on numerous charges, including 80 counts of cockfighting.
A Pinal County grand jury indicted Samuel Felix, 60, and Gerald Vaughn, 61, following a months-long investigation into cockfighting and illegal enterprise operation by the Arizona Department of Public Safety's Gang and Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement.
Felix and Vaughn, both of Coolidge, each were indicted on one count of controlling an illegal enterprise—a class three felony—as well as 80 counts of cockfighting—a class five felony.
Vaughn was additionally indicted on three counts of animal cruelty based on the condition and treatment of other animals on his property.
