HOWARD, Wis. (WBAY) - Driving along Lakeview Drive in Howard at the Duck Creek Quarry Park, you’ll find a walking trail and garden.

“We call it a quarry garden,” said Ken Sikora. “Great, great community feature.”

One made possible alongside the community’s new swimming quarry thanks to Ken and his wife, Judy.

“We started at the beginning of Covid,” Judy said. “There was nothing else for us to do.”

“It wasn’t any sidewalk here; there weren’t any rocks here. It was nothing except barbed wire and a lot of unusable things,” Ken recalled. “Judy’s the instigator. She got this going and got the village to drop off these big boulders and place them where she wanted them and then we started planting.”
