HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point police are investigating after an argument over a turkey inside a grocery store escalated to a shooting outside the store.
Police said they responded at about 6:05 p.m. Thursday to a reported shooting at the Food Lion at 2705 N. Main Street. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the arm. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
According to police, the incident began inside the store when a customer argued with an employee over a turkey. Another customer became involved, and the two men began fighting. One man went outside to retrieve a firearm. When both men were outside, they exchanged gunfire, resulting in one man being shot.
