Katherine Chappell, known for her work as an editor on the hit HBO series “Game of Thrones,” has died after being attacked by a lion on a safari trip, according to reports.
She was just 29.
The Mirror reported that the incident took place in Johannesburg, South Africa. The outlet said it was Chappell’s “dream vacation.”
How did it turn into such a horrific tragedy?
Well, according to The Mirror, Chappell rolled down her window to take a photo of a lion that was resting. The outlet said that “without warning,” the lion jumped up and attacked her through the window.
“We saw the (guide) diving into the passenger seat and punching at the lioness,’ Ben Govender, a witness, told the New York Post.
