The owners of the dog involved in a deadly attack against a smaller dog at a park in Fremont have come forward, according to the city’s police department Thursday.
Police said the owners of the dog that attacked a smaller dog in Central Park on Oct. 23 have come forward. According to authorities, preliminary findings indicate the larger dog was initially leashed but broke free from its owners’ control and bit the smaller dog.
The injuries the smaller dog sustained resulted in its death five days later, officials said.
Police reported the owners of the larger dog provided their information to the victim dog’s owners and are assisting the police investigation and the classification process for their dog in according with the Fremont Municipal Code.
