ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - After 82 years in business, a local Atlanta clock and watch repair shop is closing its doors for good.

Four generations of Bowers have worked at the family business since 1943, but now, Bowers Watch and Clock Repair on Cheshire Bridge Road has run out of time.

On Thursday, brothers Michael and Tim Bowers spent their day packing up the store.

“Young people just don’t do watches and clocks, they don’t want the family heirloom clock handed down,” said Bowers.

Bowers says the decision to close their business was not easy.

“We saw the handwriting on the wall as early as COVID. Didn’t bounce back from there, More and more customers coming more and more infrequently until we were able to say hey, it’s just not working,” said Bowers.
