Another commercial airline could be taking off and landing at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport by 2026.

With the future uncertain for Spirit , the Westmoreland County Airport Authority entered a new partnership.

“This is our insurance policy,” Airport Authority Executive Director Gabe Monzo said. “[Spirit] proceeded to say what their situation is on Tuesday. They made a report about it, and it didn’t look good. Right up until anything happens, we’ll prepare for it. We’re getting serious.”

The county commission approved the authority to start doing business with Volaire, an aviation consultant company with connections
