SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Without any suspense at the polls, the city has two new councilmen set to take office in January, along with the lone incumbent who sought re-election.

Tenille Kaus , who was appointed last May to fill the remainder of Tres Roeder’s term, will be joined by newcomers Orlando Alvarez and Peter Chengelis.

All three will serve four-year terms on the seven-member, at-large council, through 2029.

Two seats opened after incumbent Anne Williams did not seek a fourth term on council.

She previously served as the city’s centennial celebration coordinator and briefly as acting mayor between the administrations of Earl Leiken and David Weiss.

First-term Councilman Ifeolu A.C. Claytor also chose not to run again.

That paved the way to City Hall for Alvarez and Chengel
