GREENVILLE, S.C. —

The Greenville County School District is working with city leaders to provide parking relief for a growing number of student drivers at Greenville High.

The school currently enrolls more than 1,700 students in the downtown area. The surrounding environment has fostered growth over the course of several years with the nearby Fluor Field baseball stadium, entertainment options and new housing.

The development has brought traffic and an influx of families into the area.

The district tells WYFF News 4 it has 323 available parking spaces, but needs 100 more to accommodate the need.

Dr. Anne Pressley, a Board of Trustees member, voiced concerns for the crosstown during a meeting on Tuesday.
