AKRON, Iowa (KTIV) - Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley completed his 45th 99-county tour of Iowa with a visit to Akron-Westfield High School Thursday morning.
The U.S. Senator spoke to a group of juniors and seniors, taking questions from the students for roughly an hour.
Topics ranged from the shutdown and the farm bill to Medicaid and student loans.
Senator Grassley said it’s important for him to get in front of his younger constituents.
“I go to about 10 or 12 high schools a year because I never get people of that age to come to my open town meetings, and it’s a good way to keep in touch with the opinions of younger people,” Sen. Grassley said following his talk with the students.
Grassley’s 99-county tour has been dubbed the “Full Grassley,” with other members of Congress now completing
