ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Air travelers are still experiencing delays and disruptions despite the end of the government shutdown, as the nation enters its busiest travel period of the year.
Airline industry leaders estimate it will take about a week for air travel to return to normal after the shutdown ended.
“As a whole, we really expect over the next few days you’re going to see less and less of those delays,” said Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, the St. Louis Lambert International Airport Director.
While Lambert International Airport was not among the 40 airports that had flights cut due to the shutdown, staffing shortages at other airports created impacts locally.
“You know we did see delays, anywhere from 20 minutes to a couple of hours,” Hamm-Niebruegge said. “Most every day there
