TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A new affordable housing complex opened in Marana, the first in the town in more than two decades.

The Safford is part of Pima County’s plans to address the ongoing housing crisis. The new complex is designed to cut the average monthly mortgage payment in half.

The 200-unit complex is owned by Dominium , a national affordable housing owner, developer, and manager. It offers two-, three-, and four-bedroom units designed for families.

“When you have families that are three, four, five people in the household, it can be really difficult to afford a home and to afford a monthly mortgage,” said Rodrigo Dorador, Dominium Senior Development Associate.
