LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A last-minute provision added by Sen. Mitch McConnell to the federal spending bill would cap THC in hemp products at 0.4 milligrams per package.
These limits, Kentucky hemp businesses say, would effectively ban nearly all products now on shelves.
Under the new limit, nearly all hemp products currently on the market would be banned. Business owners tell WLKY the impact would extend far beyond their bottom line.
Dee Dee Taylor, owner of 502 Hemp Wellness Center, called the change devastating.
"We’ve been fighting for a while now, so I’m exhausted and I’m sad. And I’m so disappointed in our government," she said. "My products have done nothing but help people. These products actually help them and give them relief."
