WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The West Monroe Police Department began using body-worn cameras November 12, marking the launch of a program that has been months in the making.
“It was a really great day for the city of West Monroe Police,” said Chief Jason Pleasant.
The department’s implementation of body cameras required extensive preparation, including training sessions and consultations with other law enforcement agencies. Officers also developed standard operating procedures for the camera’s use.
Chief Pleasant credited West Monroe taxpayers for making the body camera program possible through their financial support.
