Rumors have begun to swirl regarding Deion Sanders' future with the Colorado Buffaloes as they sit at 3-7 heading into a Week 12 game against Arizona State. On Thursday, further fuel was added to the fire after the man who hired Sanders, Colorado AD Rick George, decided to step away from his position.
George, who has been Colorado's athletic director for the past 13 years, issued a statement released by the team on Thursday announcing that he will be stepping down as AD. He will still have a big role within the program, as he will move to a role as a special advisor to the chancellor.
In his statement, George reaffirmed his support for Sanders and the Buffaloes football team, outlining how his announcement was timed specifically to highlight this support for the program.
