Aaron Judge has done it again.
The New York Yankees captain captured his third American League MVP Award on Thursday, edging Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh in a tight race that pitted overall hitting vs. defensive prowess in 2025.
Judge beat Raleigh 355 to 335 in overall voting points. He had 17 first-place votes compared to 13 for Raleigh. The vote was the closest for an MVP since the Angels’ Mike Trout topped Houston’s Alex Bregman by 17-13 in 2019.
Judge batted .331 with 53 homers, 114 RBIs and a major league-leading 1.145 OPS in 152 games with New York. The 33-year-old was also voted MVP in 2022 and 2024.
