BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The warm and dry weather has allowed summer drought to persist into autumn. Late August brought the Brazos Valley our first taste of drought for the year, and we have not been able to shake it since.

As of the November 13th drought monitor, the Brazos Valley finds itself painted in a gradient from Stage 0 Abnormally Dry Conditions to Stage 3 Extreme Drought. The worst of the drought resides in Austin County, with conditions improving as you head to the north and east.

May, July, and August are the only months this year that have met/exceeded their monthly average - meaning seven of our first 10 months have resulted in a deficit. September was particularly dry, only dropping 0.04″ into the rain gauge at the Easterw
